Day 1 Departure for long awaited Safari

Met by our representative in the States at JFK. Moment later you will be cruising over to Kenya with a stop over in London / Amsterdam

Day 2 Arrival at JKIA Nairobi

Upon arrival you will be received by the Good Hands crew and transferred to a luxurious city hotel for overnight.

Day 3 Nairobi (green city in the sun)

After enjoying homegrown coffee or tea for breakfast you will gather for safari briefing and orientation before heading out for a city tour and an excursion to Karen Blixen Estate and giraffe Center. Shopping will follow later in the afternoon. We would recommend that you get yourself Safari boots and a vest in Kenya.

Day 4 Amboseli National Park

Drive to Amboseli National Park overnight . Have lunch upon arrival followed by a siesta before heading out for a game run at 4.00 PM. Have all you cameras in handy for abundant wildlife, variety of birds species, peaks of Mt. Kilimanjaro “roof of Africa”, and sunset. Amboseli National Park has very much to offer. It has a unique ecosystem, and a variety of game. There are five different wildlife habitats, the seasonal lakebed of Lake Amboseli, swamps and marshes with a few sulfur springs, open savannah plains, yellow barked acacia woodlands, and the lava rock thorn bush country. Amboseli is the best safari destination in Kenya to watch elephants. Cheetahs and lions are sure bets.

Day 5 The Ark

Fly to Nairobi before driving to the Aberdare country club for lunch and later transferred to the Ark for overnight stay. It’s a different ball game as different animals come to see you at different times of the night attracted by the floodlit water hole and salt licks. List all the animals that you want to see at the counter and you will be buzzed as soon as they appear.

Day 6 & 7 Samburu

Head out to the northern frontier The Samburu Plains. Here you will encounter some of the species that cannot be found anywhere else on the planet. Grevy zebra, Beisa Oryx, Reticulated giraffe Somali ostrich to mention but a few. Overnight stays at Samburu lodge. Morning and Afternoon game run. Optional visit to a Samburu village after morning game run and Breakfast.

Day 8 Mount Kenya Safari Club

Head out for Mount Kenya Safari club with a game run en route. Mount Kenya Safari Club maintains an immutably majestic presence and is a touching reminder of the vision of its creators film star William Holden, eccentric American Ray Ryan, and Swiss financier Carl Hirschmann. Overnight at Mount Kenya Safari Club.

Day 9 & 10 Maasai Mara

Transferred to the Airstrip on time to catch a small plane to Maasai Mara. Should be an hour flight. Met and transferred to Kichwa Tembo tented camp / Mara Safari club for overnight. Afternoon game run will follow after lunch and siesta . Early morning game run the following day and Optional Balloon ride and fishing trip to Lake Victoria. Overnight at the camp with a lecture after Dinner. Maasai Mara is re-known for the great migration of wildebeest which move north from the Serengeti in July and August in search of lush grass. They return south in October before the rainy season. Watching millions of these animals move together in mass is truly a humbling experience. Other animals are commonly spotted in the park including the big cats: lions, cheetahs, and leopards.

Day 11 Lake Naivasha

Fly to Nairobi and later drive to Lake Naivasha Country club for overnight. Between 1937 and 1950 this beautiful, peaceful fresh water lake was used as a landing place for plane passengers destined for Nairobi! The flying boat from London would land on the lake where the Lake Naivasha Country Club now stands, and travelers would board a bus for Nairobi. Over 400 birds have been recorded on the lake and it supports a large number of hippos. Lunch will be served at Carnival Restaurant where you will have a chance to sample all available game meat.

Day 12 Departure

Drive to Nairobi through Tea growing farms arriving in Nairobi for Lunch and last minute shopping. Day Rooms and later Transferred to the airport. Thank you for visiting with us and hope Good Hands Safaris had a chance to touch your lives in a special way.
